Vallum: contemporary poetry is published by the Vallum Society for Arts and Letters Education (VSFAALE), a federally incorporated charitable organization (Charitable number 89251 5008 RR0001). VSFAALE is committed to the dissemination of literary and aesthetic education inCanada, the US and internationally. Efforts to enhance public awareness in the literary arts are effected primarily through the print publications, public forums and events, and outreach programs established by VSFAALE. It is our goal to encourage and support poets, writers and artists at various stages in their careers, and to offer the public strong educational tools for an understanding and appreciation of contemporary poetry and literature being written today. VSFAALE strives to instill a love of language and literature in young children through our elementary school Outreach Programs, along with our Seniors' program. The program currently involves poets and educators holding workshops and poetry readings at St. Lawrence Academy Junior School and the McGill Institute for Retirement. Proposals for community and school workshops by published poets and educators may be submitted to VSFAALE for consideration. For more information or to submit a proposal, please contact us by emailing info@vallummag.com. The magazine, Vallum: contemporary poetry, provides a forum for emerging artists to interact with more established figures, giving them exposure and the confidence to continue with their art. As a publication based in Montreal, Vallum encourages dialogue between Quebec and the rest of Canada; and as an international magazine, Vallum allows Canadian artists to exchange ideas with acclaimed artists from the US, Britain, Ireland, Australia, India , and other countries. Producing Vallum as well as our other projects is a costly undertaking; in order to meet production costs, marketing demands, and to provide stipends for our contributors, we rely on the financial support of our donors. Donations are essential for maintaining Vallum’s reputation as a premier literary and artistic establishment. Tax receipts are issued for all donations, and donors will receive public acknowledgement (if permitted).
