Flying Shoe

My shoe flew away today,

It landed at a barn in a pile of hay.

The cow said “moo, what are you, a shoe?”

The horse said “neigh, why land in my hay?”

The pig said “oink, you fell with a boink!”

The shoe said “I’ll fly away, see you again another day.”

And the shoe flew away,

And landed in a baker’s tray.

The baker said “ooh! A flying shoe!”

The shoe said “why, can I have some pie?”

The baker said “shoo, shoe, go away, get your pie another way!”

The shoe flew on,

It came to a pond.

The duck said “quack, you want a snack?”

The shoe said “yes, how did you guess?”

The duck said “OK I’ll give you some pie.”

And to this day, the shoe did stay,

But it may fly away, another day
